A feast before the Feast

Here are the bride-and-bridegroom-to-be. Here are the parents. Here are the aunts and siblings. Here are the friends. The party thus begins.

Everyone is seated. A rare occasion, and a rarer congregation. The young and the old all pose as food connoisseurs, even though they are a family more used to tongue-lashing than cuisine tasting. Today they share one expectation and shoulder one mission, even feeling united by this common cause. This is not a boutique restaurant, but the well-lighted and comfy atmosphere, plus its amiable staff memebers, show that style does not necessarily rely on extravagance. One course after another is served, gratifying each palate almost to satiety. So when the manager asks if any revision needs to be made , no one feels like commenting. Better stuffed than tired. The banquet is yet to come.
